Beta use notes

SwellHunch is a free beta for reviewing surf model forecasts and keeping private surf records. These notes describe its current use and limits.

Forecast information

Forecasts and linked historical conditions are offshore model estimates or reanalysis. They are not measured conditions at your beach or guaranteed breaking-wave heights. Manual ratings reflect your saved rules; personal ratings are an unvalidated comparison with your own past sessions. Missing or unfamiliar conditions may remain unrated.

Use your own local judgment and current conditions before entering the water. A rating or alert is not a safety assessment.

Your account and content

Keep your sign-in information private and use only accounts and content you are authorized to use. Do not try to access another surfer's private records, bypass account controls, or disrupt the service. You can manage your own notes and surf records through your account.

Beta operation

Features, data availability and free-tier capacity may change. Forecast services, browser notifications and calendars can be unavailable or delayed. No membership payments are collected in this beta. Calendar drafts and downloads require you to finish saving the event in your calendar; canceling a SwellHunch plan does not remove an external event.

Data sources and questions

Weather and marine data are provided by Open-Meteo and its contributing model providers. Maps use OpenStreetMap. Provider attribution is shown in the app. See the privacy notice for account and data handling.
